Inside Artist Finbar McHugh's Galway Studio
In the January/February issue of Image Interiors & Living, we sat down with artist Finbar McHugh to discuss his graffiti influences and boundary-breaking collaborations, as he created a piece, working quickly with the wet paint to create his river of rainbows.
Starting out as a graffiti artist before moving into more conceptual and commercial work, Finbar began using his spray paint to create explosions of colour as a way of expressing himself outside of his commercial responsibilities. Encouraged by friends and family to show his work, he exhibited in Galway's Town Hall Theatre in a series entitled Feelings, inspired by the range of emotions that inspired each piece. Since then, he continues to be influenced by emotions, the push and pull of control versus creative flow of his vibrant, colour-soaked work.
Pick up the January/February issue for the complete interview.
